About Wise Cat Strategy

Wise Cat was created to help leaders navigate growth, complexity and change with clarity, judgement and perspective.

While every organisation is different, many of the challenges leaders face are surprisingly familiar. Communication becomes more difficult. Decisions become more complex. Alignment takes more effort. The structures and ways of working that supported success in one stage of growth do not always support success in the next.

Wise Cat exists to help leaders understand those challenges, make sense of what is happening and move forward intentionally.

The Story Behind Wise Cat Strategy

Wise Cat was founded by Tamsin O'Luanaigh following more than 25 years working with organisations at different stages of growth and evolution.

Eight years at IBM provided experience of large-scale organisations, systems, governance and operational complexity. Eighteen years at nDreams, including co-founding the company, provided first-hand experience of building, growing and leading an organisation through multiple stages of development.

Together, those experiences created a perspective that sits between structure and entrepreneurship, systems and people, strategy and culture. Over time, a consistent pattern emerged. Many organisational challenges that appeared separate on the surface were often connected underneath. Leadership, culture, communication, structure and strategy rarely operate independently of one another.

Understanding those connections became a defining part of the approach that would eventually become Wise Cat.

Why Wise Cat Strategy Exists

Wise Cat was not created to provide another consultancy service.

It was created to provide perspective.

As organisations grow, leaders often find themselves carrying increasing levels of responsibility while having less time and space to think. Decisions become more complex, expectations increase and competing priorities become harder to balance. In these situations, the value of an external perspective is rarely that it provides answers. More often, it helps leaders understand what is happening, identify what matters most and make decisions with greater confidence.

That is the role Wise Cat exists to play.
